When working with a new program to manage my genealogical database, I create a practice file where I can see what happens if I separate people from their spouses, parents, children, etc. I “marry” people who aren’t married to see if I can easily clean up my mistake.
Then if I can’t fix my errors, it doesn’t really matter. And the ease with which I can fix these mistakes tells me if I really want to use the software or not.
Michael what software do you use?
At this point, I’m using RootsMagic, but I do quite a bit of my actual work in a word processor.
