Reminder About Unexact FamilySearch Searches

When performing “unexact” searches on FamilySearch (with the box to the right of the name left unchecked) one letter can make all the difference in the world. The unexact search will give many variants, but the addition of one letter can significantly change your results as seen in this example involving Christian Ishner and Christian Ischner born in Germany between 1812 and 1816. There were 177 results with Ishner as the last name and 74 results with Ischner as the last name.

The unexact search will give you variants, but you still may need to experiment.
